Paralegal Duties: Support the Legal Department in daily operations and complete tasks as assigned by Attorneys. Maintaining and keeping current the Corporate organizational chart with active subsidiaries and affiliates. Maintaining and keeping current all Corporate and subsidiary records, including resolutions, board of director changes, annual reports, etc. Draft various legal documents, such as subsidiary organizational documents, exhibits, position statements, etc., for ultimate approval by Attorneys. Draft, edit, proofread and finalize Legal correspondence; prepare and carry out the delivery of same. Responsible for all aspects of the Legal Department filing system to include both paper and electronic files/documents, including SharePoint. Draft, edit, proofread, finalize and distribute Legal Department-controlled documents. Monitor case schedules and filing deadlines. Prepare and submit state registrations of subsidiaries in locations of active business. Maintain various reports and metrics for the Legal Department. Maintain contact with subsidiary presidents and other staff as needed to effectively complete tasks related to other essential duties as described herein. Maintains confidentiality of all information and/or documentation.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Paralegal certificate or equivalent education. 5+ years of Paralegal experience in a corporate (in-house) environment, law office, or a combination thereof. Previous experience drafting/editing documents and correspondence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. One or more professional certifications: CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP), PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP), Certified Paralegal (CP), Professional Paralegal (PP). Experience in the support of Attorneys. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint. Ability to maintain confidentiality of Legal Department matters, as well as other information learned by virtue of this position. Self-initiation on assignments and ability to work independently within broadly defined objectives, being able to perform job functions with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects. Ability to accurately draft, edit and proofread documents/correspondence. Outstanding written and verbal communication. Ability to summarize information clearly and concisely. Demonstrated ability to successfully work as part of a team.
