Legal Administrative Assistant Duties: Preparing correspondence, memorandums, legal documents, and if necessary, file with Tribal Court, or other courts or agencies. Prepare and finalize Tribal Council resolutions, distribute executed resolutions to appropriate personnel, file necessary resolutions with the BIA for approval and maintain original resolutions. Maintain calendar of meetings, deadlines, etc. Extensive phone contact with tribal members, outside counsel and Tribal Court. Handle miscellaneous phone and interoffice inquiries. Compose and/or finalize and mail correspondence to public officials, public relations individuals and anyone else as required. Receive and provide a copy of contracts/agreements to attorney for review. Maintain and update spreadsheet tracking contract review request and comment by attorney as well as file PDF contract documents in electronic folder.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Must have a HS Diploma/GED and a 2 year degree in Administrative Assistant or Paralegal degree is required and/or 4 years equivalent experience. Must be detailed oriented, highly organized, have strong computer skills and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. In addition, must have the ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality, work fast and efficiently, work independently and maintain a professional demeanor.
