Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its civil litigation team in Mineola, NY. This role requires handling insurance coverage matters, including preparing coverage opinions and litigating coverage disputes. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in insurance coverage analysis and litigation. Duties:

• Analyze factual backgrounds of claims and evaluate them about policy terms and applicable case law.
• Prepare detailed coverage opinions and provide recommendations to clients.
• Defend and prosecute insurance coverage actions, managing pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, from case initiation to resolution, including appellate matters if necessary.
• Collaborate with clients to address their coverage needs and ensure compliance with policy terms.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in preparing insurance coverage opinions and litigating coverage actions.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent writing and drafting abilities.
• Familiarity with various types of insurance policies, including general liability, fire, and automobile.
• Experience with New York state and federal courts.
• Admission to practice in New Jersey is strongly preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active New York Bar membership is required.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and analysis of insurance policies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Experience with appellate practice is a plus.
• Strong computer and analytical skills.
