Litigation Paralegal Duties: Under general supervision, researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney. Also this individual will identify and prepare exhibits for depositions, mediations and trials. Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery and correspondence relating to the office’s clients in litigation, counseling and transactional matters as assigned; Maintain calendar for Shareholder; Manage documents and identify and locate pertinent documents for various projects (such as exhibits for a trial/deposition, key discovery responses or correspondence that contains relevant communications); Help coordinate workflow and reminders for attorneys; and. As needed, work with Shareholder in charge of the office and/or Associate attorneys and staff in other firm offices.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of litigation, proficiency with transcription, attention to detail, and competency with procedural rules in federal and state courts. Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical. Excellent client service and organizational skills to proactively manage workload with minimal supervision are essential. Requires legal research, fact investigation, and preparation of documents to assist attorneys.
