ProfileFreedom of Information Act (FOIA) Specialist The candidate will be supporting EPA in processing assigned complex FOIA requests, provides research and documents for FOIA requests and tracks the status of each FOIA request. Will perform initial research in various EPA databases. Retrieves documents responsive to the request. Manages the FOIAOnline process, including tracking of FOIA requests, determining how each FOIA request is conducted and responded to, and the due dates for FOIA responses. Tracks the FOIA status in an Access database. Notifies the FOIA Lead of any potential issues to ensure no FOIA's are past due. Communicates with the client both verbally and written. Attends meetings as necessary. Composes response letters based on EPA guidance. Creates collections of documents and CDs/DVDs. Creates denial logs as needed. Requests documents from other Records Centers as necessary. Must have Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university. Should have 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Paralegal experience is helpful. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint helpful.
