Project Lead, Digital Trade
The candidate will be responsible for: Researching and identifying key areas where greater cooperation among stakeholders, such as business, governments, NGOs, and international organizations could be helpful, including with respect to the development of international best practices, policies, laws and regulations, standards, and norms. Organizing processes involving governments, companies, international organizations and academic and civil society experts to develop policy frameworks, protocols or corporate practices that help to adapt trade and other policies to the digital economy and address relevant social and economic policy considerations. Partnering with governments and regional and international organizations to pilot policies and practices. Catalyzing partnerships that apply digital technology to advance progress on specific public goods. Will contribute to the successful delivery of the project, reporting to the Digital Trade Project Head. Helping the Project Head to define the long-term strategy and overall thought leadership on the Digital Trade Project. Planning, managing, and executing projects (including government or regional trade agreement pilots) with relevant stakeholders. Curating the project’s expert group and community through regular meetings and coordinating their contributions to specific projects. Working with partner organizations to establish goals and roadmaps with key milestones and expected outcomes. Writing and editing Digital Trade policy briefs and assembling and presenting expert and community viewpoints. Supporting the planning and execution of Centre and Forum events. Assisting the Project Head with communications and outreach including through the use of a digital interactive space. Master (or higher) or Law degree in International Trade, Public Policy Management, Economics, Engineering, or similar fields is essential. Must have 5+ years’ experience in private or public sector, with relevant experience in international trade and/or international investment, sourcing or supply chain, with a focus on digital trade and/or cross-border data flows, e-commerce and platform economy, etc.
