General Counsel The candidate will be responsible for advising executive, senior management and board on various matters such as legal rights, and new and existing laws. Ensure compliance with all healthcare, HIPAA and GDPR requirements. Managing organization’s legal matters. Own the HR function of the business. Examining and creating draft agreements, such as employment, client and vendor agreements. Maintaining knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documents. Develop all departmental Knowledge Management documents. Conducting legal research and reviewing company’s litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions. Preserving all corporate records. Liaising with outside counsel regarding specific assignments. Creating new entities and managing organization’s intellectual property. Attract, develop, direct motivate and drive performance from the team. Deal with external parties (regulators, external counsel, clients). Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically. Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action. Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates. Provide training to company and its affiliates on substantive legal topics.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school. Should have 4+ years practice with an established law firm. Should have proven General Counsel experience in a business environment, specifically healthcare and/or technology. Must have proven knowledge of corporate and commercial law. Should have understanding legal issues and assessing and managing business and legal risks. Must have experience with corporate governance issues and corporate secretarial duties. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses. Should be proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality. Should have ability to develop legal strategy and objectives.
