Litigation Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for assisting with drafting litigation documents to submit for attorney approval. Will be responsible for communicating with opposing council extensively, as well as providing status updates to clients via phone, email, and web based communication systems. Draft, file and serve various legal documents including, answers, affidavits, notices, responses and pleadings. Request pertinent information / documents, and related items from clients and third parties; follow-up on unfulfilled requests.. Prepare exhibit packages by reviewing internal databases and client sites, requesting needed documents from clients. Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings by obtaining all necessary documents and briefing case status. Establish a strong follow-up system, which includes proper calendaring to ensure court hearings and deadlines are not missed and timeline expectations are met. Associates Degree/Professional Certificate, Bachelorâ€™s Degree is preferred. Must have 3+ years of prior office experience. Must have 1+ year of legal / document preparation experience in a professional setting. Should have strong scheduling skills, with great attention to detail and professional attitude with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
