Legal Assistant Duties: Responsible for providing full administrative support services to attorneys while remaining flexible to provide assistance in various critical areas throughout the Firm. Open new clients and matters, prepare conflict of interest forms. Closes and prepares files for storage. Perform routine filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, compiling and distributing of documents. Follow-up on delivery and receipt acknowledgements. Maintain client filing for lawyers. Maintain lawyersâ€™ contacts in Outlook with accurate contact information and notes. Create, format, edit, proofread and manage Word documents and some Excel spreadsheets; Print and/or transmit via email as requested. Draft routine correspondence, forms, etc. Manage and maintain lawyersâ€™ schedules and calendars. Schedule and organize onsite and offsite meetings. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Enters attorney billable time on a regular basis using PCLaw.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Preferably have 2+ years of legal experience or paralegal degree. Adapts to changes in work environment and manages competing demands. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with PCLaw a plus Demonstrate organizational, prioritization, proofreading, and attention to detail skills to allow for timely, effective, and accurate performance of job duties with little or no outside assistance. Accurate typing ability of 70 wpm and comprehensive computer and office equipment experience.
