Paralegal, Commercial Law This position holds responsibility for assisting in-house counsel with intellectual property and complex commercial litigation; assisting in-house and outside counsel as to case management/monitoring, fact collection and discovery; developing and monitoring various compliance programs/issues (such as ADA access, records management, social media, and e-discovery); handling the coordination of subpoenas and investigations and assisting in-house counsel with managing trademark portfolio. All of these tasks are to be under the supervision and direction of a licensed attorney supervisor. Duties: Litigation Management - Assist outside and in-house counsel with intellectual property and complex commercial litigation including litigation holds, gathering documents, tracking due dates, communicating with vendor/vendor’s counsel, assisting counsel with production of discovery, etc. Budget Management - Maintain Serengeti case management and billing computer data base; Monitor case status and assist with financial reporting and forecast process; Assist in-house counsel with reserve reporting. Compliance Initiative Management - Assist in-house counsel with compliance initiatives and projects as requested. Also assist other paralegals and legal assistants on subpoenas, investigations as requested and assist with administrative work on occasion. :
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should hold B.A. degree, Paralegal certificate a plus having 2-6 years experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department. Extensive experience with commercial litigation. Strong knowledge of e-discovery procedures. Working knowledge of intellectual property law (specifically copyright & trademark law). Good investigative skills. Good knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
