Counsel The candidate will be reporting to the General Counsel. Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders, including, by way of example, the following areas: Regulatory compliance (FDA, FTC, EEOC); Competition/Anti-trust; Employment. Draft and review a variety of contracts, including product production agreements, distribution agreements, licenses, leases, and independent contractor agreements. Manage outside counsel as necessary. Developing risk profiles and providing advice on those risk profiles. Work effectively with affiliated brands and related departments such as sales, marketing, human resources, information technology, and other co-workers, customers and other stakeholders by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; and respecting the diversity of our work force in actions, words and deeds. Must have JD degree from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in California. Should have 2-4 years of experience across a variety of subject matter areas (e.g. marketing, regulatory, general transactional, employment, antitrust). Familiarity with consumer packaged goods and the legal systems outside of the U.S. is preferred. Excellent analytical skills, particularly in cases of imperfect information is needed. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), exacting attention to detail, strong sense of ownership and accountability. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is must. Knowledge of the skin care or cosmetic industry is helpful.
