Legal Compliance Lead Analyst- Global Heath Benefits
Duties: Supports the Legal/Compliance Unit with the implementation of compliance initiatives, projects and requirements impacting GHB business. Acts as technical resource responsible for the research and analysis of federal, state and international laws and ability to communicate with matrix partners the potential impacts. Assists the Legal/Compliance Unit in the research and resolution of complex issues impacting customers, clients or matrix partners and utilizes independent judgment or discretion in determining solution. Act as liaison/change agent between GHB Legal/Compliance and GHB business units to support and implement compliance related activities and initiatives to comply with applicable regulatory requirements. Support GHB Legal/Compliance through the research and analysis of laws and regulations which would impact GHB and publish analyses through various communication methodologies. Support Compliance Managers with enterprise compliance initiatives such as quarterly reporting, audit and testing, training and other enterprise compliance and ERM related activities. Assist in the investigation and mitigation of privacy and security complaints and incidents to ensure resolution. Assist in the research and resolution of sanctions inquiries from clients and matrix partners. Keep abreast of changes to global sanction programs and notify impacted business units of any potential impacts. Assist or participate in state and/or federal compliance related initiatives or projects as required. Responsible for maintaining/up-dating the Compliance/Legal Referral Log of case referrals. Ability to draft and publish compliance related impacts to the business through the “Customer Service Alerts” and “Insider Newsletter” or other communication methodologies. Act as liaison for Subrogation Unit or outside counsel for domestic and international subrogation cases; Assist with responding to compliance related inquiries from GHB business units in a timely and accurate manner; Assist with the gathering of information for litigation, regulatory exams, fraud or information requested via court orders or subpoenas; and Update content of GHB Law Department website.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of international health care insurance or insurance experience, preferably in a compliance role. Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated good judgment and ability to express self clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner. Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task in a dead-line driven environment with competing priorities. Strong organizational, planning, analytical and problem solving skills. Experience developing policies and procedures. Knowledge of internal CGHB systems and applications. Demonstrable ability in conducting complex and successful research activities. Detail oriented, organized, thorough, with strong focus on accuracy and completeness. Able to work independently from basic instructions, guidelines. A well motivated self-starter. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
