Senior Paralegal Duties: Review and negotiate a variety of sales, vendor and other contracts. Support contract review process, including document revisions, follow-up, organizing and circulating feedback and revisions to appropriate parties, monitoring contract review process, monitoring deadlines, and escalating issues when needed. Identify areas for improved efficiencies in the contract review process, recommend solutions (including technology solutions where appropriate) and work collaboratively with the legal department and other internal stakeholders to implement those solutions; manage such solutions on a go-forward basis. Serve as point of contact and liaison between the legal department and internal and external clients for corporate and compliance related information. Overseeing the processing of invoices for the international legal department through our third-party billing company, Serengeti. Assist with managing and maintaining the legal departmentâ€™s physical file room and its electronic file room database. Identify areas for improved efficiency in the legal departmentâ€™s physical and electronic file retention process. Assist with worldwide subsidiary management of Nobel Biocareâ€™s various entities. This may include state filings for domestic subsidiaries; coordinating with local counsel on foreign subsidiary issues; coordinate appointment and removal of all corporate officers and directors; etc. Provide litigation support by preparing quarterly litigation reports, coordinating document production, corresponding with insurers regarding pending claims and facilitating the execution of affidavits and subpoenas. Provide administrative support to the legal department, including proof-reading, cite-checking, copying, drafting letters, typing, mailing packages, etc. Organize and support presentations and meetings, including scheduling; developing PowerPoint presentations and agendas; coordinating web-ex, conference lines, and in-person meeting space; taking minutes and managing participant questions and follow-up. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Act as a project manager for various programs and projects in the legal department, including managing timelines with various internal stakeholders, document and data gathering and organization, etc. The incumbent will be expected to proactively identify and address business needs or obstacles. Further paralegal type duties to be assigned as needed based ability and experience. Drive internal contract review process, including document revisions, follow-up, organizing and circulating feedback and revisions to appropriate parties, monitoring contract review process, and escalating issues when needed. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal approval processes by assisting with template updates, creation of new templates and contract â€œplaybook.â€
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelorâ€™s degree required Paralegal certificate (CLA/CP Certification) from an ABA accredited school required. 2+ years of experience as a paralegal; corporate experience preferred. Intermediate experience and knowledge in WebEx and other on-line meeting technologies Intermediate experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Impeccable accuracy in document formatting, spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Intermediate experience with the Serengeti platform or similar e-billing solution required. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated experience in improving efficiencies in an in-house legal department or corporate law firm, including but not limited to through implementing and leveraging appropriate technology Proficiency in time and project management, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with speed and accuracy; to move others to action; to move projects through set goals and timelines, ability to scope and implement project plans with varying degrees of complexity and duration. Demonstrated ability to work with outside counsel and to interact with senior management. Must demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and professionalism. Meeting organization skills, including large group meetings. Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills.
