Legal Clerkship The Clerk will gain in-house and telecommunications law experience providing legal support to attorneys in the Office of General Counsel and to internal clients. Responsibilities will include: Working in a client-focused and fast-paced environment, the Law Clerk will have the opportunity to research law, investigate facts, attend meetings, prepare written and verbal analysis, and provide guidance. Responsibilities and opportunities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, administrative codes, administrative decisions, judicial decisions, and treatises to prepare legal documents, such as memoranda, briefs, appeal decision letters, and contracts. Providing legal support to members of the Office of General Counsel and business units concerning High Cost, Lifeline, Schools and Libraries, and Rural Health Care programs. Reviewing, revising, and drafting contracts for the procurement of goods and services. Provide legal support to the attorneys of the Office of General Counsel and business units concerning administrative rules and regulations related to the Universal Service Fund and its support mechanisms. Attend meetings with staff, the Federal Communications Commission, and/or USF stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Excellent legal research and writing skills as well as the ability to quickly identify and analyze legal issues in a variety of subject areas. Excel at operating in a diverse and fluid environment and have strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Passionate about mission to help Americans improve access to essential communications technology. An experienced problem solver with great attention to detail and can work independently, multi-task, and learn quickly. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated interest in telecommunications law, administrative law, and/or non-profit law
