Family Law Paralegal
Duties: Organizing information received through Client Worksheets and preparing summaries for attorneys; Reviewing financial documents and preparing drafts of required court documents for attorneys to review; Working with attorneys to draft Interrogatories, Requests to Produce, Requests for Admission, Subpoenas, and Deposition notices to be sent to opposing counsel and other individuals; Coordinating document production for and drafting responses to the opposing party’s Interrogatories, Requests to Produce, and Requests for Admission, which will entail organizing documents received from clients and third parties; Bates-stamping documents; redacting specific portions of documents; indexing (and avoiding duplication of) documents; collecting relevant documents; proofreading documents; and organizing exhibits; Tracking all relevant dates related to the cases in practice; Helping attorneys prepare for hearings, depositions, and trials, which will include identifying relevant documents; gathering and preparing necessary documents; organizing exhibits; digesting and summarizing transcripts to highlight relevant issues and facts; and helping to prepare witness outlines; Greeting clients and visitors to office, both by telephone and in person, in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner; Answering phone lines on a multi-line phone system, as needed, and routing callers to the proper team member; Communicating professionally, in a clear and concise manner, with team members, clients, and other professionals; Maintaining a professional work environment at all times and complying with the company’s dress code policy; Performing other administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, taking client payments, etc. (as needed) in an efficient and timely manner; and Completing other projects, as requested.

Qualification and Experience Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and prior experience in a family law setting is absolutely a plus. Demonstrate prompt, consistent and punctual attendance, meet deadlines, work independently, and will restore faith in good old fashioned work ethic. Will be very comfortable working on a computer (preferably a Mac), using the Internet, and must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
