Summer Associate Program
The candidate will be given work assignments that would normally be handled by a first or second year associate. Typical assignments given to summer associates include conducting legal research, drafting motions and briefs (including appellate briefs), drafting transactional documents and attending client meetings, depositions and court hearings. Summer associates often work directly with partners and they are an integral part of the team. The firm’s practice groups include bankruptcy, business finance, corporate/securities and tax, litigation and real estate. In addition to obtaining experience in the specialty practice groups, our associates benefit from the firm's integrated practice philosophy by working with attorneys in the other practice groups. For example, in restructuring and working out a loan facility the associates and partners in our business finance, bankruptcy and litigation practice groups work together as a team and in purchasing or selling a corporation in connection with a bankruptcy proceeding, bankruptcy and corporate/securities and tax practice groups coordinate the transaction.

Review:

"Good Attorney's But Questionable Support Staff"

Current Employee - Reviewed on July 28, 2017

I would get nicer and more competent non-legal support staff. I think it would make all the attorneys as well as paralegals a lot happier. It would also make it easier to retain talent. I did not like having to fight over pay and no one else does either.

Pros : I found the attorney's great to work with. I always felt supported by the senior staff and was mentored well with them. I found the case work interesting and challenging. The paralegals were also great to work with.
Cons : While the paralegals and attorneys were great a lot of the support staff was bad. I was treated pretty badly by the accounting department on a number of occasions. They were very rude. I had to drag senior management in a few times to deal with hours billed. I should not have to do that.
