Associate General Counsel The candidate will work with Sharp business unit Executives, Department Heads & employees to provide legal counsel pertaining to desired business practices and legal alternatives. Will oversee and coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel, involving both transactional and litigation matters. Review proposed contracts, leases, formal agreements and other legal instruments. Prepares agreements between Sharp business units, including direct dealer business unit, and third parties involving, employee relations, marketing programs, purchasing agreements, sales contracts, leasing credit and intellectual property licensing. Oversees and coordinates product liability and small claim matters, including those handled by outside counsel. Conducts a legal review of marketing and advertising programs and other printed marketing material published by the company. Advises on bankruptcy related matters, trademark and copyright, customer service issues and other matters related to the electronics industry. Ability to handle diverse areas of substantive law a must. Assist in managing company’s litigation through overseeing outside counsel and insurance provider activities, as well as coordinating internal efforts necessary to support litigation. Assists parent company in its litigation within the United States. Can be part of the team that oversees the legal aspects of Sharp’s M&A work in the U.S. JD degree with 5-7 years of commercial legal experience is needed. Must possess excellent interpersonal communications and human relations skills are essential.
