ProfileOPS Attorney The candidate will assist the division with facilitating complaint resolution, specifically including issues relating to mortgage servicing, debt collection and foreclosure, including implementation and monitoring of Attorney General Office settlements with mortgage servicers and related entities. Will also assist the Tampa Bureau with investigations of potential violations of state and federal consumer protection and trade practices law, gathering and evaluating evidence, and preparing cases for appropriate legal proceedings. This position may also assist with litigation of consumer protection cases in state and federal courts, including preparing pleadings, motions, memoranda of law and briefs; preparing legal research and evaluating the research of investigators; preparing subpoenas, conducting discovery and other pretrial proceedings. Prior experience with financial services, real estate, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and facilitating and/or resolving consumer mortgage or financial-related issues is preferred. Preference will be given to attorneys who are active members of the Florida Bar. Must have Bachelor of laws or JD degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
