Profile

Chicago office of our client seeks an associate attorney preferably with experience in creditors' rights law. The candidate will be expected to appear on time to court 5 days per week in all downstate counties that are required each week. Will review all the cases and prepare the relevant orders for each of those calls, trials, and motions. Negotiate with defendants and attorneys while at court, phone, email, and regular mail to settle contested cases. Draft and file motions as well as responses to motions from defendants. Correctly prepare, appear timely, and properly handle court appearances in any downstate counties. May be required to draft, review, and file any necessary motions during the course of litigation. Prepare for trials/arbitrations as necessary for the firm which may include overnight stays in distant counties. Communicate with consumers, consumer's employers, and consumer's attorneys as necessary to resolve accounts/suits. Court experience is preferred. Must be licensed and in good standing in the State of Illinois. Additional licensing in other states (MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) would be preferred.
