Associate General Counsel Duties: Support pharmacy operations (including hospital, specialty, and retail pharmacies, related supply chain initiatives, and 340B programs), assisting with navigating and complying with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Advise the organization with respect to litigation and other risks of potential business decisions, and add strategic value through collaborating with others to meet organizational goals and business objectives. Also assist with reviewing, drafting and negotiating an array of vendor and supplier contracts, including medical device and pharmaceutical procurements, large capital/maintenance agreements, software license agreements, consulting agreements and other purchased services.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree required. 7+ years’ experience required. Solid knowledge of laws applicable to the delivery of healthcare services, as well as contract law and tax exempt organizations law. Experience with analyzing and advising on federal and state healthcare regulatory and compliance matters is required, including experience with the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA and Medicare reimbursement issues, as well as 340B Program and pharmacy licensure issues. Experience preparing and negotiating complex contracts and other legal documents is required. Preference for candidates with both law firm and in-house experience. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated capability for legal research. Ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to interact productively in a wide variety of situations and to command the respect and confidence of a diverse population of people throughout the organization.
