Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Georgia-licensed attorney to join its team full-time, focusing on probate litigation and estate planning. This role offers the opportunity to lead the probate litigation practice, handle contested and uncontested estate matters, and advise clients on estate planning strategies. Duties

  • Manage probate litigation cases, including estate disputes, guardianship, and conservatorship matters.

  • Prepare estate planning documents and provide clients with tailored legal strategies to achieve their goals.

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and legal briefs.

  • Represent clients in court, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing compassionate guidance throughout the legal process.

  • Collaborate with a team to drive cases forward efficiently and effectively.

  • Stay current with relevant laws and legal trends in probate and estate planning.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia and in good standing.

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience (5+ years preferred).

  • At least 2 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for probate litigation.

  • Ability to draft and respond to discovery, prepare motions and briefs, and appear in court.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and legal research skills.

  • Strong communication and client service abilities.

  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and goal-oriented.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the Georgia State Bar.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of probate and estate planning law.

  • Strong legal writing and advocacy skills.

  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating within a team.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
