Paralegal/Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Reviewing and analyzing incoming correspondence and pleadings, and preparing appropriate draft responses; Drafting correspondence; Reviewing and summarizing pleadings; Reviewing and preparing lease abstracts; Assisting with compliance reviews; Preparing agendas for Board Meetings and maintaining Board and corporate meeting minutes; Preparing necessary corporate filings; Drafting consulting agreements and vendor contracts; Drafting policies and procedures to maintain compliance with funder requirements.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 3 years’ experience working in a law firm or supporting in house counsel, required. Superior oral and written communication, including excellent writing, drafting and editing skills, a pleasant telephone manner and accurate message taking; Understanding of real estate and corporate transactions; Knowledge of corporate compliance –preparation of Board agendas, meeting minutes, etc.; Knowledge of organizational legal framework, relevant legal processes and procedures; Experience preparing and processing of legal documents; Must be able to conduct research using a variety of legal and research services, including online, library-based and other services; Must be able to organize and manage multiple priorities; Must be able to review, summarize and synthesize information and present findings and/or recommendations clearly and succinctly; High level of proficiency in Office 265 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
