Contract Administrator, GS 05 - 07 Duties : Perform duties of a developmental nature as a trainee. Receive assignments that are designed to orient, train, and increase your knowledge in the contracting. Familiarization of the organizations programs, projects, and functions; and contract administration manuals and procedures are pertinent at this level.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification : Must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. This announcement is open to Recent Graduates. Must provide documentation of enrollment/graduation with dates of enrollment/completion. Recent Graduates must provide documentation that a degree was awarded by an institution of higher education not more than 2 years before date of appointment OR For Veterans, not more than four years since completion if completed a period of obligated uniformed service of more than four years. Must meet the DoD Qualification Requirements for the Contracting series (1102). A Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. AND At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (This requirement can be obtained within the degree or in addition to the degree). Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. Education :May start at the GS-05 if have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees; AND at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. This requirement can be obtained within the degree or in addition to the degree. May start at the GS-07 if have the following qualifications: 1 full academic year of graduate education, law school, or Superior Academic Achievement; OR 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience drafting contract provisions and supporting documentation. Experience presenting information orally. Education can be substituted for experience : Superior Academic Achievement is obtained through: (1) Class standing - being in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses; (2) Grade-point average - (a) having a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) having a grade point average of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or, (3) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.
