Fall Law Student Volunteer, Academic Year The legal interns will conduct legal research and writing on issues of civil rights compliance in federally funded programs and on issues of constitutional law and jurisdiction affecting the rights of prison inmates; assist staff attorneys in reviewing civil rights complaints and conducting investigations; and assist staff attorneys with case review and management. Interns will also have the opportunity to join legal staff at Department-sponsored events. First-year (second semester), second- and third-year law students are encouraged to apply. Must have strong analytical, research and writing skills, an eye for detail, and a demonstrated interest in civil rights and public interest law. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week for 10 continuous weeks in the fall and spring. Deadline : June 1.
