A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law, including both litigation and advisory work, and possess robust academic credentials. This role involves handling a variety of employment-related legal issues, providing guidance to clients, and representing them in legal proceedings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent clients in employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and employment contracts.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on employment law compliance, including issues related to workplace policies, employee handbooks, and regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, and motions.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Department of Labor (DOL).
- Handle employment law litigation, including preparing for and conducting depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to address and resolve employment disputes.
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and industry trends to provide informed legal counsel.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to address complex employment law issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in employment law, including litigation and advisory roles.
- Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.
- Proven ability to handle a wide range of employment law issues and represent clients effectively.
