ProfileFair Housing Coordinator The candidate will provide fair housing intake, education/referral, counseling, and advocacy services, including intervening on behalf of tenants to resolve fair housing issues, researching and analyzing legal issues, drafting written materials such as education letters and reasonable accommodation requests, and assisting staff attorneys at pop-up clinics to provide brief fair housing counseling services. Will develop/oversee case investigations, including interviewing witnesses, surveying sites, collecting and analyzing documents, and researching public records. Engage in community outreach and education on fair housing issues, and act as the agency liaison with government officials and other organizations. Contribute to program development and administration, including drafting funding proposals, and work collaboratively with other agency personnel, funding sources, and other nonprofit agencies in the community. Track data and compile quarterly reports as required by funders. Assist in other duties as assigned to further the interests and mission of the agency. Must have a demonstrated desire to work to further civil rights protections, and a desire to work and interact with, as well as demonstrate respect for, diverse individuals and groups. Bachelor’s degree is required. J.D. or M.A. degree is highly desirable. Should have excellent written communication skills. Bilingual, bicultural candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
