International Tax Manager (Strategic Growth Initiatives) The candidate will work in collaboration with stakeholders across the Expedia business (domestic and international) to unlock the business and enable growth for strategic initiatives. Working with the Senior Manager of International Tax for SGI will have regular interaction with key stakeholders and is a great opportunity to work at the heart of a global ecommerce business. Further, this role will offer significant cross-functional teamwork and partnership opportunities with the other tax disciplines. In addition to maintaining a strong knowledge of the U.S. International Tax consequences of new business launches, the successful candidate will develop a keen understanding of local tax rules and regulations across a variety of emerging markets. Responsibilities: Support the implementation of solutions, strategies and policies in partnership with transfer pricing and indirect tax to support scalable and sustainable global business expansion. Partner with tax leaders and business (brands, finance, legal, accounting, treasury, etc.) to develop holistic tax strategies. Prepare tax memorandums, business requirements and tax playbooks for execution of projects. Work with external tax advisors to research, document and provide proactive recommendation to the business. Assist with drafting of tax technology, tax report and tax process requirements relating to projects. Performing financial analysis and collaborating to build financial valuation models to support assessments of new country launches. Review contracts to ensure intercompany agreements contain key terms that are consistent with global tax structure and to minimize potential tax risks to the company. FIN48/FAS5 analysis. Ensure positions are properly researched and documented. A LLM or Masters in Taxation or equivalent is preferred. Should have experience in international tax and transactional planning. Must have 7+ years of experience including public accounting or law firm experience. Industry experience in the technology sector is preferred. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
