Law Clerk Internship
The candidate will join the juvenile delinquency unit. Will be responsible for depending on the unit to which students are assigned, clerks may draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs in opposition, appellate briefs, and postconviction pleadings. Will also organize files for trials, observe witness interviews, provide investigative support, create PowerPoint presentations for trials, compile exhibits, and observe trials and arguments before the Eighth District Court of Appeals. Good legal research and writing skills are essential. Working as a law clerk at the CCPO enables law students to gain first-hand exposure to the criminal justice system and to local law enforcement. Students work closely with Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys who are investigating and prosecuting felony criminal cases, providing support to crime victims.
