Learning Specialist Duties: Seek, recommend, and deliver cost effective training to improve the quality of the work product and the efficiency of the employees with the least additional cost. Prepare teaching materials for and is an expert user of the core software used by ODNSS practice assistants, paralegals and attorneys. Deliver consistent, quality training experiences via all training modes currently used at ODNSS, including live settings, web/phone conferences, phone/remote computer access, and online eLearning. Identify groups and individuals who could benefit from participating in a learning event. Research, develop and write end-user documentation, including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Quick Reference Cards (QRC), and usage Tips for core software and soft-skills. Assist the Learning Solutions Developer in editing, customizing and proofing training materials in the Firm’s Learning & Employee Development (and e-Learning) Library. Provide updates to the Firm’s Ogletree Deakins University (ODU) database. Provide unstructured customer service training services such as Lunch & Learn sessions, post-learning Floor Support, and web/phone conference Q & A sessions. Prepare evaluations and descriptions of training events, including user response, workflow observations, and follow-up / support considerations. Assist in documenting technology usage in the workflow of practice assistants, paralegals and attorneys.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor degree preferred. 5+ years of work experience as a law firm Learning Specialist (or Trainer). Advanced skills in and understanding of computer applications and systems is required. Proven experience that demonstrates abilities and interest in assisting others to overcome computer problems and/or workflow issues. Experience training end users on soft-skills topics (i.e., Communication, Time Management, Proofreading, etc.), is preferred. Highly self-motivated and require minimal direct supervision.
