Supervisory Paralegal - Antitrust Civil and Criminal Matters The candidate will provides direct supervision for the Senior Paralegals. Will provides subject matter and technical training to Senior Paralegals, as necessary. Works with Division management, trial attorneys, and Division paralegals to manage tasks for Senior Paralegals. Designs searches for privileged, responsive, or relevant documents using the advanced analytic tools available through the Division’s document review platforms. Interfaces with the Division’s Litigation Support Section to coordinate on the technical/data processing aspects of matters. Reviews and analyzes documents, transcripts, files, and other materials for responsiveness and to locate information and evidence relevant to investigative actions or responsive to requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admissions, and other discovery requests. Identifies possibly privileged documents and reviews and prepares privilege logs. Uses electronic databases and other electronic means to perform litigation support tasks, including reviewing, organizing, indexing, tagging, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials. Conducts database searches for documents and information. Assists attorneys in preparing for, and conducting, depositions and interviews with investigative sources, expert witnesses, and prospective fact witnesses. Assists attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial investigations and discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. Must have 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, including trial experience. At least 1 year of experience in automated litigation support is required. Must have supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources preferred. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important. Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources preferred.
