Legal Assistant The candidate will serve as back up in specialized/functional areas as needed (i.e. Corporate Records and Governance, Product Marketing, Litigation, Sales and Compliance). Will follow established procedures on all assigned work. Timely update and maintenance of files and databases as assigned. Open, Stamp, and disburse incoming mail. Maintain supply closet and order office supplies for department, obtaining necessary authorizations in compliance with department policy. Assist Operations Manager with routine office functions as needed. Review and coordinate payment of invoices as assigned. Track and analyze office supply expenditures to assist in preparation of Legal Department budget. Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys (i.e. answering calls, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, making travel arrangements, processing business expenditures, etc.). Prepare initial drafts of professional correspondence for attorney review as needed (i.e. response letters, inquiries, emails, presentations, etc.). Complete special projects as assigned. Participate in innovation opportunities, both company driven, and assignment related. Participate in all cross-training opportunities as applicable. Attend and participate in department scheduled trainings designed to support continued education and employee development. Should have two years of college. Should have 0 - 2 years of experience. Prior legal secretarial experience is preferred. Familiarity with legal terminology is preferred. Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is needed. Ability to type 50 or more words per minute is essential. Proficient in the use of standard office equipment (i.e. phone, computer and scanner/fax machine) is needed. Excellent legal transcription skills are essential. Excellent organizational skills are needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.
