Corporate Counsel - Commercial Litigation The candidate will report to the Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel - Commercial Litigation. Will manage myriad payment, collection, real estate and operations disputes as part of company's 6-member commercial litigation team. Manage a large portfolio of payment and collection disputes with payors. Manage varied real estate and operations litigation, including landlord/tenant disputes, adverse possession claims, condemnation matters, etc. Draft demand letters. Negotiate and draft settlement agreements. Supervise and manage outside counsel. Manage matter budgets. Directly manage and assist other members of the commercial litigation team in managing arbitration and litigation, including coordinating discovery, managing dispute resolution / litigation strategy, and attending depositions, hearings, and trials. Advise clients about pending and threatened litigation involving a wide variety of matters. Support company executives and other attorneys in developing legal strategies.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree with 5+ years of commercial litigation experience. Law firm experience is required. Large/national law firm, in-house, and clerkship experience are a plus. Should have State Bar qualification and good standing. Working knowledge of ERISA, health insurance policies, and contracts between health care providers and payors is strongly desired. Strong e-discovery knowledge and experience needed. Some travel (10%) required.
