Managing Counsel- Securities Finance
Duties: Responsible for covering the agency securities lending business. Provide legal and regulatory advice, and working on global projects to support market leading agency securities lending business. Provide essential legal support in handling custody and third party clients as part of the agency securities lending services including cash reinvestment services. Work closely with Compliance, Credit and Risk partners and other internal lawyers. Assist with responses to regulatory exams and other relevant inquiries and internal audits. Interact with senior management and provide updates with respect to regulations and their application to the agency sec finance business. Assist and represent the Sec Finance Legal team in enterprise-wide and departmental projects. Participate in industry advocacy as part of relevant industry groups. Advise on strategic business initiatives. Draft, review and negotiate legal contracts. Monitor and advise on industry best practices pertaining to the Agency Sec Lending business. Oversee and manage the retention of outside counsel on Agency Sec Lending matters.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Law degree (JD Degree) and licensed to practice law in New York. 8+ years of experience at a law firm and/or large financial institution dealing with sec finance. Experience with industry standard trading agreements. Experienced attorney dedicated to supporting the Sec Finance business, which is part of Markets business. Knowledge of current regulatory issues impacting the sec finance business. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Solid quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. Detail oriented, with ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines. The ability to be a proactive, dynamic member of the Legal Department.
