Logistics Management Specialist, GS 11 Responsibilities: The candidate will provide complete functional support across various ILS disciplines including configuration, technical manual, repair parts, planned maintenance, x-maintenance assistance module and naval supervising activity (NSA) analyses. Identify ILS program planning and execution problems. Will develop and implement corrective action plans to adjust operations to facilitate adequate logistics support. Monitor delivery of ILS products via AIT and MSMO contractor and ensure that all new equipment and/or systems technical documentation, configuration documentation, and on board repair parts (OBRP) are turned over to the ship. Collect metrics and analyze trends of alteration/ship change installation efforts and make recommendations to higher authority on process improvement. Prepare and make oral/written presentations and initiate correspondence concerning any or all aspects of the project, logistics and ILS. Support the ILO/PMR process by providing and coordinating all ILS aspects related to equipment alterations during CNO availability. Provide ILS services in support of the NSSA Engineering Department Assessment process.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must demonstrate 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing configuration and logistical support work which requires applying a broad knowledge of logistics principles, concepts and methods that encompasses a wide range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functionality applicable to ships undergoing modernization, conversion, and/or repair. I also have experience performing analytical and investigative assignments in support of the assessment and validation of shipboard equipment and systems which contributes to accurate configuration information and the correct identification of logistics support elements and experience performing technical investigations, research and analysis to determine baseline configuration and Allowance Parts Lists (APL) for shipboard equipment and systems. Examples of specialized experience include: Identify ILS program planning and execution problems related to ships overhaul, modernization or repair in order to develop corrective action plans; Participate in conducting/coordinating the evaluation of design, configuration and engineering changes for major components of new/extensively modified equipment systems; Perform research on complex systems that are located on ships undergoing conversion, modernization or repair; Research allowance parts lists (APLs) to determine the level of validation necessary and the required information to support undeveloped APLs; Participate in the collection, interpretation and development of provisioning technical data (PTD) assigned to major components of new and extensively modified equipment systems or commodity classes; and experience collecting, procuring and distributing Naval Ship's systems/equipment configuration and logistics data.
