Profile

Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC is seeking an experienced Estate and Trust Administration Paralegal for our Baltimore City office. This individual will work closely with our attorneys and clients on complex estate and trust administration matters. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience as well as employee benefit programs.

 

Qualified candidates must have the following:

 

  • At least 2-5 years’ experience as a trust and estate paralegal
  • Experience with software such as FASTER, Quicken and Microsoft Office
  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certification
  • Accounting background
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

 

 

Estate Administration Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintain Estate Administration files
  • All aspects of probate process, preparing forms on FASTER software and filings
  • Obtain Estate Tax Identification Numbers
  • Preparation of Federal and State Estate tax returns
  • Client meetings, contact and interaction
  • Assist Personal Representatives with locating assets, creditors, and debts; opening bank accounts; valuing and inventorying assets; preparing Administration Accounts; Petitions for filing in Orphans’ Courts throughout the State of Maryland
  • Maintain and reconcile estate checking account ledgers

 

 

Trust Administration Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintain list of trusts for which we have fiduciary responsibility
  • Responsibility for Life Insurance Trusts including preparing and sending out contribution requests; maintenance of check ledgers and check books; preparing and sending out Crummey notices; preparing and sending out premium payments to insurance companies
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts

 

 

General and Miscellaneous Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Open new files
  • Maintain client matters and deadlines
  • Witness document signings
  • Prepare Receipts and Releases, and fiduciary closing documents
