Legal Counsel The candidate will manage the intellectual property portfolio of firmâ€™s, including preparing and filing U.S. trademark and patent applications (and any related documents), monitoring trademark renewals, and managing foreign IP counsel. Will draft and negotiate various IP related agreements, including license agreements and nondisclosure agreements. Provide legal support to business units procuring technology solutions. Draft and negotiate a variety of software licensing, hardware procurement, and IT services agreements. Assist with contract drafting and review. Manage and perform patent-related due diligence for commercial transactions. Advise business units on legal matters relating to trademark infringement and other IP disputes. Manage or assist with any IP litigation matters and manage all trademark proceedings. Advise on global intellectual property strategy. Assist on other legal matters and contribute to the overall legal function of risk analysis of the company. Collaborate with various business units on matters related to corporate policies, company programs and projects and other company business.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a JD degree, with excellent academic credentials. Admission and member in good standing of the New York Bar is needed. Should have 5+ years of intellectual property experience, preferably a mix of law firm and in-house experience. Must be proficient in all aspects of intellectual property law. Privacy and data protection experience is a plus. Knowledge of and experience with trademark database software essential. Strong negotiating and drafting skills essential. Sound judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills needed.
