A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney with a robust background in diverse litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of academic achievement, substantial law firm or clerking experience, and outstanding problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. This position requires a strong foundation in commercial real estate litigation, distressed loans, and related financial instruments. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in taking and defending depositions and courtroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and manage discovery processes.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Appear in court and manage cases through trial, including presenting evidence and arguments.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and recommendations.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Maintain case files and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, including clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and courtroom proceedings.
  • Strong academic background with a high level of problem-solving, writing, and communication skills.
