Compliance Advisor
Duties: Provides consultative guidance to internal business partners about contractual, regulatory, and ethical obligations to mitigate risks, drive revenue and improve profitability. Oversees execution of compliance program-specific projects and tasks. Partners with cross-functional teams to accomplish goals. May entail regulatory risk assessments, creation and execution of training materials for targeted stakeholders, identification of key controls that will address risks, and periodic monitoring and assurance. Consultative Service to Internal Partners: Provides consultative services to business segments and corporate shared services on new product, service, acquisition, marketing strategies, and escalated issues to identify steps to mitigate compliance risks. Supports Compliance by Design initiatives, new acquisitions, projects, and ad hoc requests. Takes a risk based approach when analyzing risks and recommends process enhancements and controls so that the rigor and oversight are proportionate to the level of risk. Focus on subject matter expertise in a variety of facets of compliance. Regulatory monitoring, analysis, recommendations, and tools: Conducts research and monitors state, federal, and international regulatory compliance activity, industry guidelines and evolving best practices. Escalates to Legal as needed. Performs gap analysis of obligations and partners with the business to implement controls to mitigate risks and to meet internal and external audit expectations. Creates toolkits, and training to address gaps and mature processes within the business to meet evolving obligations. Compliance program governance and oversight: Oversees maturity, policies, procedures, regulatory compliance language in contacts, toolkits, training, monitoring, auditing, and metrics of compliance programs. Point person to business. Compiles and analyzes metrics to understand strengths and areas where further education is warranted. Oversees identification, reporting and closure of regulatory issues identified from internal risks assessments, or insights from regulatory research and industry best practices. Communicates key updates about the compliance programs to executive stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelors (or equivalent experience) in paralegal, research, privacy. Marketing, compliance, legal, or equivalent. 3-5 years of compliance related experience. Knowledge: Broad knowledge of regulatory compliance obligations, program management, and project management. Experience providing risk based approach while supporting compliance obligations. Experience with due diligence efforts when entering into third party relationships or M & A activities preferred. Strong negotiation and influence skills to constructively communicate with and build relationships with business partners. Interpersonal skills including individual interaction, group presentation skills, written communication, and ability to develop rapport with staff and clients. Strong ability to navigate leadership across multiple functional areas. Solid leadership and coaching skills desired that enable employee growth. Able to manage complex, long term initiatives. Ability to work independently, organize and set priorities in order to participate in and serve as advisor to multidisciplinary teams. Positive, enjoys team work and interested in continuous learning and development.
