Senior Counsel (Antitrust) Responsibilities will include: Support antitrust counseling, strategy and training for the company. Reports to the Chief Counsel, Antitrust, responsible for leading antitrust strategy and counseling for the company’s enterprise wide. Understanding the competitive landscapes relevant to, and challenges and threats faced by the company's diverse and evolving businesses in different jurisdictions. Participating as necessary in the implementation of a comprehensive, global antitrust compliance and training program to understand, anticipate and mitigate antitrust and competition risks across jurisdictions. Advising General Counsel Organization colleagues, strategy teams and businesses on a day-to-day basis on a wide variety of antitrust matters, including commercial agreements, strategy projects, and compliance issues. Reviewing and advising on pending and developing antitrust laws and regulations, and developing strategies for addressing same. In collaboration with Compliance, Regulatory and Ethics Group, Internal Audit and business unit legal teams, supporting antitrust-related investigations and inquiries. Partnering with outside counsel, the M&A legal team and the Corporate Strategy and Business Development team on antitrust risk assessments of and regulatory strategy for proposed acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, and associated filings and review by antitrust regulators globally. Partnering with the Litigation Group and outside counsel on strategy for and management of antitrust litigation. Communicating with antitrust regulators and representing and participating in meetings with such regulators on behalf of the company.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials. Member of a state Bar in good standing. 8-10 years relevant experience as a practicing antitrust attorney. Experience in antitrust and competition counseling, enforcement and defense. Blend of large law firm and government experience preferred; in-house experience desirable. Preference for experience in the health care or pharmaceutical industry. Ability to communicate effectively with, and gain the trust of, business unit leaders and GCO colleagues. Ability to collaborate and build relationships with legal and business colleagues of varying levels of seniority and sophistication regarding antitrust matters. Excellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and organizational savvy.
