Federal Energy Regulatory Affairs is responsible for providing legal and regulatory services to the electric utility, generation, and power marketing affiliates of Entergy Corporation. The practice of this attorney will concentrate on compliance with NERC reliability standards and representing Entergy and its affiliates in audits and investigations conducted by SERC, NERC, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Among other duties, the attorney will provide day-to-day regulatory and legal advice on compliance with NERC reliability standards, participate in rulemaking proceedings related to the reliability standards, and provide strategic and legal advice regarding key business initiatives designed to minimize the risks of noncompliance. In addition to NERC compliance responsibilities, the attorney will also participate in regulatory, litigation, and policy matters before the FERC, such as transactions subject to Section 203 of the Federal Power Act, rate filings under Section 205 of the Federal Power Act, wholesale power markets and regional transmission organizations, and regulatory litigation. Depending on level of experience, the attorney will assume lead responsibility for various matters and/or assist other in-house regulatory attorneys on various matters. This position may be filled as a Counsel or Senior Counsel position depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements-Education: A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required. Minimum Requirements-Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of legal experience involving NERC reliability standards and enforcement matters before NERC and/or FERC is mandatory. Preferred-Experience: Three (3) to eight (8) years of legal experience involving NERC reliability standards and enforcement matters before NERC and/or FERC is preferred. Experience with other compliance and enforcement matters is highly desired.
