The candidate will be providing clients with corporate and strategic counsel services focusing on representing the multi-disciplinary needs of business clients. Handling client contractual issues such as licensing, distributor and other revenue generation agreements, strategic alliances, partnerships, and suppliers; good working knowledge of IP law, privacy law and related areas applicable to technology-based businesses. Assisting clients with structuring and implementing growth and exit strategies, investment transactions, business succession, and merger and acquisition issues. Structuring strategy, implementation, and management of client intellectual property legal issues (domestic and international); brand protection and building, creative protection, and general IP management. Strategy, protective negotiation, and constant interaction with client business teams. Assuming front-line responsibility for client projects, including communicating directly with the client, and shepherding client projects from beginning to completion.
Qualification and ExperienceThe candidate should have a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. Should have 8-12 years of solid experience in a medium to a large size law firm in areas of corporate representation of small and middle-market businesses. Qualifications include distinguished academics from ABA Accredited Law School, strong writing skills, keen attention to detail. Possession of a license to practice law in Georgia or Colorado (NY, FL and/or CA a plus). Self-starter, interested in growing firm clients. Proven track record of developing strong, trusting, and long-lasting client relationships. Ability to handle the fast-paced workload and add value to multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to act as a “Practical Strategist” to balance business needs with legal risk. Ability to use a “hands-on” approach to research, problem-solving, and client relations. Comfortable with technology. Creative, positive thinker with a good sense of humor. Experience in intellectual property, employment law, private securities, or tax benefit. Must be outgoing, collegial, and collaborative. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
