A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Patent Agent to support its patent prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will assist the firm’s clients in protecting their technology by drafting and prosecuting patent applications through the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and supporting due diligence efforts. This role requires high technical expertise in relevant scientific fields and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Duties:
- Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including preparation of necessary documents and responses to office actions.
- Conduct patent searches and analyses to support due diligence and infringement assessments.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand technical details and ensure accurate representation of inventions.
- Review and interpret scientific literature and patent filings to advise clients strategically.
- Assist in managing patent portfolios and strategizing on IP protection and enforcement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patent law and changes in regulations.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution or a related field.
- Master’s Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Registration to practice before the USPTO and Patent Bar eligibility.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments from various partners and clients.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
Education:
- Master’s Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Certifications:
