A law firm in South Burlington, VT, is seeking a skilled Foreclosure Attorney to manage and oversee all aspects of judicial mortgage foreclosure processes within the State of Vermont. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foreclosure law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, support staff, and the courts. The attorney will be responsible for managing the entire foreclosure process, from initial demand through to the recording of foreclosure deeds, and will provide legal counsel throughout the proceedings.
Duties:
- Oversee and manage all documentation necessary for judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
- Handle related matters, including debt disputes, defense to counterclaims, and actions to enjoin foreclosure.
- Represent mortgage lenders and/or servicers in all stages of the foreclosure process.
- Review and ensure compliance with all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
- Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently and effectively.
- Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
- Attend and participate in mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
- Work closely with and provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the foreclosure process.
- Coordinate with support staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of foreclosure documentation.
- Develop and implement strategies for managing complex foreclosure cases.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing parties.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA Accredited Law School.
- Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont is required; admission in other New England states is a plus.
- Proven experience in managing judicial mortgage foreclosures and related legal matters.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience working directly with senior management and conveying legal issues within tight deadlines.
