Unscripted Production Paralegal/Coordinator Duties: Handling and coordinating signatures (both externally and internally) and entering signed agreements into digital document tracking system; Creating, updating and tracking deal terms; Creating and maintaining option tracking systems; drafting and issuing option pick up notices; Managing and updating all form agreements and deal summaries, as well as various dashboards, and document management systems; Coordinating with the Unscripted team on projects, priorities, and production schedules; Capturing and condensing notes from meetings with various business and legal affairs partners; Coordination among internal teams with respect to various issues including chain of title, rights management, legal deliverables, marketing restrictions, talent approvals and payment and finance; Drafting, reviewing and redlining various 3 party agreements as needed under the supervision of counsel (e.g. license agreements, co-production agreements, production services agreements, and above the line and below the line agreements); Review third-party production packets and agreements (including participant releases, location agreements, access agreements, materials releases, casting notices); Negotiate production agreements (with attorney supervision); and Providing internal support for various dashboards and production and management systems and providing training to new team hires.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: JD Degree. 3+ years of experience in a business and/or legal affairs setting, managing legal agreements in television or film, including some drafting and reviewing of those agreements (or if an attorney, 2+ years transactional experience in a law firm or a production company, studio or network); Maintaining flexibility and openness to take on additional projects as necessary or assigned; Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment; High level of organization, detail orientation and ability to time-manage across multiple deadlines; Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Google Suite; Highly collaborative, resourceful, quick thinking, and curious; staying calm under pressure; Positive attitude curious and ability to respond positively to change and be respectful of new ideas; Demonstrates good judgment, strong critical thinking skills and the desire and willingness to take ownership and control of complex projects; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented; and knowledge of the evolving and international media landscape is a plus.
