Associate General Counsel Responsibilities: Works under the direction of the General Counsel to provide legal support to company. Conducts legal research as necessary to perform job duties or as requested by the General Counsel or Associate General Counsel. Drafts, reviews and negotiates agreements and other transactional documents as requested by the General Counsel with specific focus on physician employment agreements; clinical and administrative services arrangements and other similar health care integration, partnership and affiliation transactions. Remains current on developments and anticipates trends regarding applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations applicable to company's business activities specifically to include Starkand Anti-Kickback laws/statutes. Serves as a resource to internal customers regarding legal and regulatory matters affecting Palmetto Health's business activities. Develops and implements education and training opportunities for internal customers in the areas of health care integration, partnership and affiliation transactions. Participates in transactional due diligence efforts as requested.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: A J.D. degree from an accredited school of law. 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house legal department providing advice and counsel to hospitals, health systems or physician organizations required. Licensed to practice law in state of SC or must obtain License within 1 year of employment. Experience in negotiating, managing and implementing routine and complex healthcare transactions.
