In-House Labor And Employment Paralegal The candidate must have substantial experience in assisting employment lawyers in handling a broad range of employment related matters and disputes, including demand letters from opposing counsel, arbitrations and litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, nonpayment of wages or commissions, and wrongful termination. Should have working knowledge of US employment laws such as the Americans with Disability Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and WARN Act. Must have extensive experience in conducting internal investigations, interviewing witnesses and preparing position statements in response to charges of discrimination, wage claims and other similar types of agency complaints. Should have proven ability to work independently and successfully set up, handle and manage a caseload and/or multiple assignments. Must have demonstrated experience in handling all aspects of discovery, including drafting, issuing, maintaining and releasing document holds, identifying witnesses, and collecting and organizing documentation and files, as well as experience with large discovery projects for class actions, including, use of electronic discovery software for gathering, indexing, and reviewing electronic documents. Should have proficiency in entering new employment matters into case management systems; tracking deadlines and posting updates for new cases; acting as liaison with HR, local management and outside counsel for individual cases. Must have ability to coordinate and work with internal business clients (at all levels in the organization), outside counsel, and vendors (including those associated with electronic discovery) and others associated with litigation and arbitration matters. Excellent writing and communication skills required. Must have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other applications. Must have Paralegal Certificate or Equivalent College Degree. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience in handling a variety of Labor and Employment matters and arbitration/litigation.
