ProfileEducation Staff Attorney The candidate will provide sexual assault survivors with comprehensive legal consultations, representation, and referrals. Will represent sexual assault survivors on education law cases (K-12 and campus), as well as privacy, safety, and limited criminal justice advocacy. Participate in weekly intake and case assessment meetings. Conduct strategic outreach to community partners and institutions with a focus on central Massachusetts, and foster strong relationships with partners in that area. Facilitate trainings and opportunities for cross-trainings with partners in central Massachusetts. Assist in developing outreach material for campus and K-12 communities. Work closely with the VRLC Education Team and participate in weekly education intake and case assessment meetings. Train, mentor, and support pro bono attorneys representing VRLC clients. Participate in the collection of accurate client services data collection. Work collaboratively with a team of lawyers. Must be Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts for a minimum of 2 years and in good standing. Should have experience working with trauma survivors and/or underserved communities (e.g. LGBTQ, communities of color, people with disabilities, minors, etc.). Experience in Title IX education law (K-12 and/or campus) is preferred. Courtroom experience desired. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
