IP Paralegal The candidate will provide support to the legal department and in particular in the area of patent and trademark prosecution practice. Will assist in the preparation and maintenance of all foreign and domestic patent and trademark applications. This will include the filing and prosecution of all applications, portfolio management and effectively responding to all foreign and domestic correspondences in a timely manner. Will report to the General Counsel. Assist in preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent and trademark applications, including preparation of documents to be filed with WIPO. Assist with preparation, filing and prosecutions of trademark applications and the maintenance of trademark registrations. Handle all routine correspondence with foreign counsel and domestic outside counsel. Assist with trademark, copyright and domain name clearance and portfolio management. Research patent-related information from multiple sources and maintain patent prosecution files. Integrate new patent files from acquisitions into existing systems and maintain e-filing of USPTO. Maintain both foreign and domestic docketing systems. Complete other duties as assigned by the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Ethics and Compliance Director. Support a variety of Legal and Compliance operations. Adapt and accept changes in job responsibilities based on the strategic goals of the company.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate. Should preferably have 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience or training within a law firm setting. Experience with electronic research tools and patent prosecution filing systems such as WIPO, USPTO EFS, Bloomberg law and PatSnap is required. High level proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is needed.
