A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-Level Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney with 4+ years of direct experience in high-net-worth estate and tax planning. The ideal candidate will come from an estate planning practice, tax practice, or another transactional practice, with strong academic credentials and active admission to the IL Bar preferred. The candidate should demonstrate excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills, along with a strong focus on precision and attention to detail. Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills, high organizational abilities, and the capability to manage multiple projects effectively are essential for success in this role.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on high-net-worth estate and tax planning matters.
  • Draft and review complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Analyze and provide strategic advice to clients on various estate planning issues, including tax implications.
  • Assist in the administration of trusts and estates, including probate proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in estate and tax laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload efficiently.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Illinois (IL) Bar.
  • 4+ years of direct experience in high-net-worth estate and tax planning.
  • Experience in a large or mid-size law firm is preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active admission to the Illinois (IL) Bar.
