Senior Legal Assistant, Compliance
Duties: Support attorneys who handle regulatory matters. Drafting responses to regulatory inquiries with attorney supervision. Managing discovery requests (e.g., coordinating meetings/interviews; timely and efficiently gathering, organizing, and assembling voluminous materials; and performing document reviews). Managing electronic files. Maintaining accurate records of requests, responses, and materials. Support monitoring and auditing activities performed by the Compliance Department. Compiling and analyzing data and reviewing accounts and records. Support the Compliance Committee. Preparing presentation materials with attorney supervision. Summarizing meetings. Coordinating follow up activities. Distributing relevant information and communications. Perform other compliance-related activities as requested. Provide administrative support to department leadership as requested.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: High School Diploma. 4 years of recent and relevant work experience in financial services industry, law firm, or legal department. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience with assessing and responding to regulatory inquiries, including state and federal initiated examination, audits and investigations. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work independently and in support of team objectives. Ability to communicate respectfully, clearly, and concisely to all levels of the organization and regulators. Ability to remain positive, professional, determined, calm and focused when faced with challenging situations. Open and receptive to ongoing feedback aimed at improving performance. Be organized, able to multi-task, and able to prioritize multiple requests to meet all deadlines. Be self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision in a team environment. Quickly learn and become a subject matter expert in new systems/processes.
